The Boston Young Men's Christian Association (also known as "YMCA of Greater Boston") was founded in 1851 in Boston, Massachusetts, as the first American chapter of the YMCA.[2]
The central branch at 312-320 Huntington Avenue was built in 1911 by Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge and Woodbury and Leighton. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 as Boston Young Men's Christian Association, reference number 98001082.
